Complete Compost

We are a family run business producing high quality compost and potting soil for 10 years, on our home farm, 25 km from Grahamstown. We work hard to keep our carbon footprint as small as possible by selling locally to companies and private clients. Our recent relocation to Grahamstown is significantly reducing our delivery kilometres. We source all the organic matter locally and keep as close to 'organic' raw material as possible.

We will be producing common compost, potting soil, lawn dressing for local private customers and nurseries. We also invisage producing "custom made" compost, potting soil, lawn dressing, grow medium - focusing on the special needs of indivnameual clients. The target market will be the local farmers, golf course and landscapers whom have very special indivnameual needs ie lime, gypsum, rock dust, manure etc added to the compost. Close liason will include the advice and gunameance from agronimists and soil tests.

All organic matter is sourced from local organisations. Rhodes University provnamee all garden organic matter which is delivered daily. Carara Agro Processing deliver all their waste and spoiled organic matter during the harvesting and processing season from January to June. Their matter is not organic but responsibly sourced and has stringent EU control. Organic matter is also sourced from Grahamstown Parks and the Municipal department. The 'donkey cart' group collect organic matter from private gardens and for their added trouble delivering it to site rather than the municipal dump they get a little extra money, also gives us an opportunity to have a look at the health of the donkeys and assist when necessary. Private Landscapers, Gardening Services and the local schools will also be approached for their organic matter.
