City Housing Ethekwini

VISION & MISSION

As a Section 21 ‘Not for Gain Organisation’ (NGO), City Housing Ethekwini’s primary objective is to purchase and refurbish inner-city buildings in order to provide clean, safe, affordable, and well-administered accommodation for people who qualify in terms of the rules defined by the National Department of Human Settlements.

We are committed to creating a portfolio consisting of prime inner-city residential apartments. Our long-term goal (5-8 years) is to acquire at least 20 buildings, which will create approximately 2000 apartments within the Durban CBD.



PART OF THE UNEXA FOUNDATION ‘FAMILY’

One of the most important benefits of the CITY HOUSING ETHEKWINI business strategy is that it offers a percent of its profit as a source of funds to be applied within some of the Unexa Foundation’s most important initiatives.

Surplus cash flow from operations will thus be used to finance projects such as the eCampus, Expanded Awareness Programme, and others Unexa Foundation’s Services
at least until such time as these programmes are generating sufficient income for self-sustainability.
