City Bowl Market on Hope

City Bowl Market on Hope Street is the place where Cape food lovers meet.

Every Thursday evening from 16:30 – 20:30, traders from in and around Cape Town gather together in an exquisite, historical building to cook up a storm!

We have around 30 different stalls to choose from, all of which are carefully handpicked whilst we scour the Cape for traders that offer the highest quality, freshest ingredients & a passion for food.

Variety is key at the City Bowl Market, with cuisine from around the globe, everyone is certain to find something that suits his or her taste buds and dietary needs. Meet your friends or feed the family, there is absolutely no reason to cook on a Thursday night as we have done it for you!

We have a live band performing from 18:00 – 20:00 every week, which gets everyone’s toes tapping and creates a fabulous upbeat atmosphere that you won’t want to leave.

Once a month we host a FASHION MARKET, which is also on a Thursday night. Here we bring you a selection of fashion & jewellery stalls, in addition to our food market.

City Bowl Market is populated by a community of remarkable individuals, all of whom care deeply about the food and drink that they offer.

Our mission is to be a viable and sustainable, independent, quality food market, rooted in the local community, bringing a selection of the best food and drink to the community and creating a platform for traders to trade within the City Bowl.
