Christ the King church is situated in the south of Johannesburg (commonly known as the 'New South') and serves the following suburbs, Mondeor, Winchester Hills, Naturena, Kibler Park, Meredale, Mayfield Park, Suideroord, Glenvista, and Mulbarton. It's often quoted as being the beautiful part of Johannesburg, with it's beautiful landscape consisting wide and refreshing array of fauna and flora. We are also privileged to have the protected Kilpriviersberg Nature Reserve gracing our area.
Our congregation represents a cultural mix of people and we use various languages in our service. We are blessed with continual growth of members.
We took occupation of a Badminton hall in Mondeor in 1960, as the beginning of serious church worship. We currently occupy the same site but with the new and bigger building being built. The church had begun in homes of parishioners a couple of years prior to that. Our parent church was Holy Trinity, Turffontein.
The name, 'Christ the King' was adopted from the church in Sophiatown which was closed and the people moved before 1960, because of the Group Areas Act.
VISION STATEMENT Striving to grow spiritually, committing ourselves to the service of the Church and to all people for the Kingdom of God.
