Roodepoort Child and Family Welfare Society is a non-profit organisation which has been in operation since 1930. The organisation renders services that is classified in the category of “the care and protection of children, care and support programmes for families”. Services are rendered in the Roodepoort Magisterial District and surrounding informal settlements by qualified Social Workers and Social Auxiliary Workers who performs Social Work interviews, home visits and presentations in the Children’s Court. Group and Community Work Programs have also been launched in the past year. Several programs are planned and the Organisation has always been an Adoption Agency, has applied for accreditation in terms of the New Children’s Act No 38 of 2005, and is awaiting accreditation.
