More about Die Mark / The Market

Die Mark / The Market is a new Sunday market that operates weekly in Centurion.

The market offers food stalls, kids activities, arts, crafts, handmade items, jewellery and much more.

The market is based on the old Centurion Golf Course and is situated under big shade trees. It provides a tranquil atmosphere and visitors can scarcely believe that the market is situated in the middle of an urban environment. The overall ambiance is one of rural tranquillity with bird song all day long.

Die Mark / The Market is very close to the Centurion Mall and is right next to the Centurion Society of model Engineers where visitors, both young and older, can enjoy train rides at very reasonable prices.

The 900 meter track trail through a beautiful landscape including tunnels, bridges and over lakes.

Every third Sunday of the month the Society operates the steam engines and offer visitors a chance to experience train rides the old way.

The market provides a lot of activities for children and has a flour bomb obstacle course for the children. Here the children can throw coloured flour bombs at each other to their hearts content while dodging the bombs hiding behind obstacles. All activities will take place in a safe environment.

Picnic areas are being developed where visitors can buy their food at the various stalls and then enjoy the food under the shade trees. Unfortunately, spaces are limited, and bookings will be preferable to ensure a space.

A picnic basket service is available and must be booked in advance. Foods available will include anything from braaivleis, side dishes, salads etc to sweets for afterwards. Any of the other foods available at the market will also be available.

Bookings must be made at least three days in advance and a deposit, subject to terms and conditions, will be required.

Mountain biking cyclist will be delighted to know that the market is currently in the planning stage to develop a cycle track. The track should be in operation very early in 2018 at the latest.

This market, with the easy access to the train rides, and all the activities for the children, makes for an ideal Sunday outing for young and old.
