Central Hockey Club

Central Hockey Club (CHC), established in 1993, promotes hockey at all levels of the game for Boys, Girls, Men and Ladies.

Facilities: CHC headquarters is at Vygieskraal Hockey Complex, Athlone which boasts a top quality, water-based artificial pitch and two grass fields. Two additional grass fields are maintained at Clover Crescent, Athlone.
Benefits: Since CHC strives to serve the broader ommunity of Cape Town, accessibility and affordability are key considerations.
People: Membership is open to all regardless of race, gender or religion. Key role-players in the club are officials and players who have their roots in the former non-established provincial hockey bodies for men and women (1962-1992)
Affiliations (Youth): CHC is affiliated to the WP Youth Hockey body caters for primary school, high school and club hockey.
Affiliations: CHC operates under the jurisdiction of the Western Province Hockey Union (WPHU), South African Hockey Association (SAHA), and International Hockey Federation (FIH).
Partnerships (local government): CHC has a well established, dynamic Partnership with the Department of Sport and Recreation, City of Cape Town.
Partnerships (provincial government): CHC enjoys a close working relationship with the EMDC Central, Western Cape Education Department in promoting Youth life skills projects.
