More about Caron Whateley Counsellor

Are you suffering from mood disorders, or anxiety/stress disorders? Let's work on them together with Solutions Focused Therapy and Cognitive Behaviour Therapy.

Have you lost someone dear to you? May I help you get through this difficult time with bereavement counselling.

Perhaps wedding bells will be ringing for you in the future. I can help to prepare you, as a couple, for marriage. Marriage preparation counselling ensures that your foundation is strong enough to build upon, enabling you to enter into your marriage with confidence! I provide a Marriage Preparation Journal that covers the period of wedding planning and preparation, the wedding day itself, and, importantly, the first few months of marriage. Not only is this tool extremely beneficial, it is also a fabulous keepsake.

Is your marriage / partnership breaking down? Are you having trust issues, sexual issues, responsibility issues? Perhaps parenthood has brought about some changes that are having negative effects. Would you like to finally start talking about things in an environment where you feel safe, where you will have the opportunity to express yourself and where I can assist in helping you gain a better understanding of your issues and of each other? I work with individuals or couples.

Some of you have good marriages / partnerships... but want to take your relationship to the next level. You can! This is exciting and fulfilling! Explore your relationship and discover areas that can be improved upon.

Do you feel as though your life is "unbalanced"? Let's do an assessment and discover which areas of your life are receiving more or less attention than perhaps they should, and then set attainable goals to work towards in order to increase your overall sense of wellbeing.

The effects of trauma, neglect and abuse can be devastating for sufferers and their families. You don't have to be a combat soldier to encounter trauma. Trauma happens to us, our friends, our families, and our neighbours. There are many amongst us who were sexually molested as a child or beaten by a parent to the point of a mark being left on the body (and the mind). Many couples engage in physical violence - and many children have witnessed this. A high percentage of us grew up with alcoholic relatives. Many of us have innocently been involved in criminal activity. These are but a few examples. It is possible to transform trauma - to palliate or even reverse the damage. I will work with you to help you feel fully alive in the present, and move on with your life.

Do you work in an environment where you are constantly caring for other people, sometimes at the expense of your own wellbeing? Are you suffering from compassion fatigue?

Work performance counselling- I have extensive experience in the employment relations environment. I work for organisations counselling managers or key personnel whose performance has declined, helping them to become more successful at work and to manage their stress. I also teach managers how to counsel others at work, enabling improved work performance all round.
