What Is the Bhagavad Gita?
Bhagavad Gita is a Sanskrit title which means Beautiful song of God. Sanskrit is a language of antiquity from India and the language of the Vedas – ancient wisdom written 5000 years ago. The Bhagavad Gita is a beautiful song of 700 philosophical verses. The philosophy of the Gita is dialectic, and the main speakers include Arjuna who posed questions and Krishna who gave answers in 18 chapters. The Gita is a Revolutionary literature. Currently revolutions are sprouting up in every corner of the globe over issues of gender, race, environment, religion, and politics. Frantz Fanon has said, "Each generation must discover its mission, fulfill it or betray it in relative capacity." My generation’s mission is to unleash the flood of spiritual enlightenment and inundate the entire planet with it. The revolution of the Bhagavad-gita is a spiritual one, providing solutions to the recurrent material frustrations and problems. It answers essential questions such as:
