Best Friend Portraits

My name is Petra. Since I was a child I've loved to draw. It seems to be an inherited gift that runs throughout my family. After retiring in 2015, I continued to teach horse-riding then picked up my pencils for the first time in years. I simply never had the time for creative endeavors before. I realized I could still guide a pen, but chose to invest in a few lessons with the well-known David Thorpe. He taught me a great deal, and helped me to perfect my style and truly manifest that which I'm capable of. I now draw coloured-pencil drawings of best friends; the four-legged kind!

All of my drawings are done freehand from a photographic reference, which the consignee can send to me via Whatsapp or email. Studying the picture, I take time to get to know the pet and learn to recognize their own special character; that unique and special 'something' that makes them who they are. My standard fee for a single pet on white, A4-size paper is R400 (zar). Other size options are, of course, negotiable.
