Bantura Projects and Designs

At Bantura we have manufactured Perspex and chromadek signs for one-man businesses and corporate companies since 1987. We are OHS compliant – including indemnity.
It’s amazing how computer technology has changed in recent years allowing for increased productivity and possibilities, compared to the earlier years.
We started out doing silk-screening where we had to first make up our own frames, then stretch the silk over them and cut the artwork stencils by hand (a stencil for each color) and then screened the boards manually. Apart from silk-screening we also did window dressing, ticket/poster writing, where one would still use pots of paint and a sign-writing brush. We worked all over Gauteng painting shop fronts and showroom windows with messages and cartoon drawings for new products that were being launched.
From time to time we were called out to paint large temporary murals and for one customer we had to build a temporary wall 3m high from masonite panels which surrounded his property in Sandton. On these panels we painted British scenes of Westminster Abby, Big Ben, The Queens Guards and the Tower of London etc. and also had to build a replica of the London Bridge over his swimming pool. This little project took weeks and many sleepless nights, today however one could do the same project in half the time and be more cost effective.
We also built small to medium size show stands for different companies at exhibitions.
AND THEN!!!!....... Computer technology arrived and from then onward we could offer faster, better services to our clients, from doing chromadek wrap around signs on buildings, some of them 180m long to small ‘A’-frame signs. We eventually ventured into Perspex fabrication which opened a whole new field for us. However we still live and learn but the most important goal is that our customers are happy and keep on coming back.
