AWA Feeding Scheme

AWA Feeding Scheme was founded and started as a family initiative.

The aim is to decrease the amount of children that go to bed hungry each night. The initiative started in Freedom Park, Tafelsig in Mitchells Plain.

We started out small by feeding 200 to 300 people every Saturday for 2 years.

We planted our roots in Freedom Park, due to the increase in mouths that needed to be fed each week and we have reached number of up to 500 to 1000 people.

AWA runs on a Saturday of every second week and it remains an initiative that is independently run and is funded by its founders and most importantly by the donations we re receive on a monthly basis.

With the increase of poeple there are to feed, AWA has seen an increase in its volunteers over the past several years, randing from little kids, teenagers and eldderly coming to offer a helping a hand in aid of alleviating hunger one plate of food at a time.

We appreciate all of the contributions and donations over the last several years and are thankful to the almightly for granting us the strength, help and resources to allow us to continue to try and make a change, big or small.
