Athlone Park Primary School

Athlone Park Primary School opened in 1970 to cater for the growing Athlone Park community.

Despite its relative youth, Athlone Park has developed a rich tradition of caring, courage, vision and determination. What makes a good school? Is it a long history? ...academic standards? ....sports results?...good facilities?....teaching staff? Probably all of these, and more. Whatever it is, Athlone Park Primary School has it.

Our curriculum reinforces our holistic approach to teaching. Our pupils are encouraged to think independently and to take responsibility for their progress. The Media Centre and Computer Room are well stocked, providing excellent reading and resource material. Our interactive Smartboards provide state of the art teaching and learning opportunities for our pupils.

We also offer a variety of sporting and cultural activities where we aim to strike a balance between competitive sport and participation for enjoyment.

The school has comfortably sized classes in the low twenties and provide a safe environment in which the children have every opportunity and the support necessary to assist them in reaching their full potential.

Our results attest to this. Our pupils go on to be the top achievers at their respective high schools in academic, sport and leadership roles.

The staff at local high schools like Kingsway tell us that on arrival in grade eight our pupils stand out for their leadership qualities, their willingness to volunteer their services and their academic preparedness.
