The Architects Of Justice is a Johannesburg based practice formally established in 2009. The three founding partners have a shared history of work and study going back fifteen years. AOJ as they have become known specialise in “not specialising”. Focusing on understanding their client’s needs AOJ is able to tackle building projects of varying scale, type and complexity in any location.

They take a practical approach to each individual project looking for hidden design opportunities, and couple aesthetics with sensible architecture.

AOJ’s ability to work with and coordinate other professionals and consultants on a project team paired with their willingness and dedication to guiding their client’s through the project process from beginning to end has led to strong, long lasting relationships with all stakeholders, most importantly their clients.

Further to architecture AOJ also offers “value adding services” to their clients such as interior architecture, space planning and custom furniture design.

AOJ creates responsible architecture that is neither commonplace, overtly pragmatic or naively utopian. Instead by challenging the ineffectual norms and benchmarks of the industry; AOJ appoints justice to the idea from conception to execution.
