More about All Saints Anglican Church Durbanville

In 1825 a group of farmers requested permission form Lord Charles Somerset, the Governor of the Cape Colony at the time, to build their own church. The building of a Dutch Reformed Church commenced in 1825 and it was inaugurated on 6 August 1826.

Today All Saints is a thriving and diverse community, reflecting the demographics of our City and Province. The Parish Roll includes about 1800 individuals, of whom about 400 are pledging members.

Two Sunday morning services of the Holy Eucharist have a combined average attendance of between 350 and 500 each week. Weekday Eucharist are celebrated on Wednesdays and Thursdays at 09:30, and at 19h30 on Wednesdays. Parishioners are involved in leading worship, participant in governance, serve in outreach and ministry projects and join in many fellowship activities and events.

All saints seeks to express its diversity by including all three languages in our region—English, Afrikaans, isiXhosa—in our worship, and our music seeks to be inclusive, both traditional and contemporary. We seek to be welcoming and inclusive, eager to receive into our life all those who feel drawn to Christ, want to live Christ-like lives and proclaim the good news of Christ’s Gospel.
