Akkedis House is perfectly situated to enjoy all that Cape Town has to offer. Simonstown is just a short drive and is home to the historical Naval base as well as the well-known penguins of Boulders Beach with an interesting array of quaint restaurants and boutique shops. Continuing on past Simonstown, you will find Cape Point Nature Reserve. Cape Point Nature reserve has many trails for hikers and mountain bikers as well as the meeting point for the Cold Atlantic and Warm Indian Oceans. The drive along the Peninsula offers some of the most spectacular scenery and takes you through Scarborough, Kommetjie and Noordhoek before taking you over Chapmans Peak and into Hout Bay. The beautiful Fish Hoek beach and the quaint villages of Kalk Bay and St James are also just a hop skip and a jump away. Not mention Muizenberg Beach where any “would be” surfer can learn to ride the waves. Should you wish to visit the city attractions, access via Ou Kaapse weg and the M3 freeway or Main Road via Boyes Drive are nearby and are both breathtaking driving routes.
Stay Local. Should you simply just wish to get away from the city: park the car, put your feet up and chill, this is what Akkedis House allows you to do.
The Wetlands opposite the road encompasses a 30 minute walk – just enough to get the blood flowing…and the scenic hike of Elsies Peak is a stone’s throw away.
Basic services such as the Total Service Station, Spar Food Store –bottle store within, Bottle store, Laundry outlet, the Vet and the Stoep and Swing Pub are all within walking distance!
