1. Company
For over 100 years JD Robertson and Walton have been providing world class plumbing services and solutions to a variety of customers. The company was started in 1907 by JD Robertson and was later joined by Jeff Walton. Together they became one of Cape Town’s leading providers of plumbing services. Their customer base consisted of a rich mix of private home owners, corporate and hospitality industry clients. Gerald Smith took over the management of the company 50 years ago and continued to position the company as a trust worthy client centric organization who places the customer at the heart of their business. The company is registered with the Western Cape Master Builders Association and strictly follows the governance, policies and guidelines of this organization
2. New Owners
In May 2014 Gerald decided to retire and sold the company to Colleen Alben. Colleen enters the plumbing industry with a wealth of experience in the corporate sector and brings with her business management experience which she developed over a period of 26 years in various aspects of management. She is a highly skilled and qualified financial accountant who also understands the value and importance of client centricity. Colleen is committed to continue with the service ethic that has made JD Robertson & Walton a house hold name over the last 100 years.

3. Company Strategy
The company strategy is based on 3 pillars namely: People (Knowing our customers, developing our staff and suppliers), Client centricity (the customer at the heart of the business) and value for price (ensuring that our customers benefit from the best value for price and service. We believe by following this approach we will be able to enhance our service offering to our customers and build lasting relationships which will be beneficial to both the company and the customer. We will continue to research and develop our skills and competencies to ensure that our customers benefit from state of the art techniques and technologies.
