47 Gypsies truly is a unique venue. Established in 2014. Gypsies is a gorgeous old-world, beach-front home situated in the picturesque seaside village of Gordon’s Bay. A true gem in the Helderberg, with many offerings:

This unique, gorgeous, original old Gordons Bay holiday home is situated in just the best location, right across the road from the beach! There are fabulous views of False Bay with Table Mountain clearly visible across the Bay. Flanked on either side by interesting little restaurants, pubs, coffee shops and curio shops. The owners are warm and welcoming. We accommodate backpackers, couples, solo adventurers, business travellers, dream seekers and anyone else who enjoys this soulful kind of experience. The house “talks to you the moment you set foot through the ancient front door”!!! The house doubles as guest accommodation, coffee shop (summer season) and also have an onsite adventure tour company to assist with all your adventure tour and transfer bookings. All under one roof.

Accommodation

47 Gypsies Book-a-Bed offers backpacker style accommodation. We have 2 private rooms (sleeps 2 each) and one dorm room (sleeps 6). We welcome backpackers, couples, solo adventurers, business travelers and dream seekers. Book here!

The bathroom (bath/shower and toilet+ guest toilet is shared.) There are no on-suite rooms.
The rooms all come equipped with power points & USB charging plugs, bedlinen, shower towels, and free Wi-Fi to guests.
There is a common room with fire place where you can spend your evenings if it is too cold to sit outside.
The house has a big veranda leading to the lawn, overlooking the mountains and ocean.
There is NO television in the house but there are plenty books and magazines to read.
Basic cooking facilities available to guests, as well as a barbeque area. There are various restaurants in walking distance from the house where you can have your meals.
We have 2 pets, Koos the dog, Kattie the cat. Koos is always ready for walkies and will gladly take you to the beach.
With the beautiful Helderberg mountain range and nature reserve on one side, the azure waters of False Bay on another and within easy reach of Cape Town, you’ll never be short of activities.

Coffee shop

It’s a warm, welcoming venue where you can drop in with friends and enjoy a cuppa and something sweet to eat outside on the lawn! Coffee shop is open when weather permits outside seating.

Kayak Rentals

Double Kayaks - R150 per hour
All rentals include a personal flotation device (PFD), paddles, brief instruction.
Have fun in the bay
Children under 16 must be accompanied by parents.
