Young Minds Empowerment

Young Minds Empowerment (YME) is a registered Non-profit Organisation which aims to promote academic excellence around Bushbuckridge. YME is an initiative formed by passionate students studying from various universities due to the discovery that in our society, our family and friends tend to not further their education to higher institutions due to financial constraints and other related matters. As students from various universities and colleges we came into consensus to invest back into our community by implementing this initiative which will equip and empower our brothers and sisters, especially those who are currently in high schools. Due to difficulties we have experienced during the process of transforming from high school to varsity life, we are striving to be the solutions so that our brothers and sisters may not encounter what we went through. The YME initiative is aiming to achieve the following objectives;
• We will be providing tutoring sessions for major subjects to grade 10, 11 and 12.
• We will also provide life skills to enhance academic performance of the learners.
• Encouraging learners to participate in sports and leadership activities available in the community
• Learners will also be provided with career guidance
• Assisting learners with university applications for admission and bursaries

The initiative also creates a platform for any individuals who want to bring a positive impact into our community. This will also enable the members of the organisation to acquire relevant skills which are useful in the industry.
