WagonDrift Lodge

WagonDrift Lodge is located on a game farm in the Dinokeng (malaria free) area of Gauteng. The region is rich in history, particularly of Afrikaans, English, Setswana, Sepedi, isiNdebele and Xitsonga-speaking people. Today the area is characterised by a mélange of these multi-cultural influences, with towns and villages sporting hints of the bygone eras that helped to shape there character. We encourage you to step out of the 'fast life' and escape to the tranquillity and peace of WagonDrift Lodge. Deriving its name from the many ox wagons that traversed this area in search of just that - a piece of heaven' in this lovely bushveld setting. You can still find wagon tracks carved through the bush, reminding us of the many cultures and people who searched for a better life. You will also discover that these early travellers not only left wagon tracks behind - but rich cultures, tasty food and beneficial lessons on how to take life at a slow pace. WagonDrift Lodge is home to a wide variety of fauna & flora. Beside the many antelope species we also have more than 200 bird species that have been identified in the area. WagonDrift Lodge also boast abundant floral treasures such as Scadoxus puniceus (Paint brush), Ammocharis coranica (Ground lily), Xerophyta retinervis (Monkey's tail) etc.
We do not have resident dangerous Big 5 wildlife on the farm so Wagondrift Lodge is ideal for family walks or bicycle rides in the bush. Why not take along a picnic basket filled with scrumptious goodies, and utilise the opportunity to slow down and enjoy the wonders of nature around us.
A creative playground is also available for children and is within eyesight of the parents while they enjoying 'high tea' or having a swim in the inviting pool.
