Tusk Safaris and Game Lodge

LOCATION:
Tusk Safari & Game Lodge is located in the Limpopo Province in the Northern region of South Africa.

This Bushveld area is populated with a wide variety of Fauna and Flaura; including birds, reptilians, insect life and a diversity of vegetation (including Baobab trees).

Our 1600 Ha facility is 4 hours away, by car, from Johannesburg International airport, and around an hour by plane - the local airport for light aircraft is an additional hour by road.

HUNTING:
We cater for both rifle and bow hunters on our facility. Safaris for dangerous game can be arranged into the surrounding area as well as neighboring countries including Zimbabwe, Botswana and Mozambique.

Our target markets include international hunters, as well as, local group hunts for corporate clients.

SLAUGHTERING AND CAPING:
Our well trained and experienced staff maintains the facility and we offer full slaughtering and caping services.

Slaughter starts when a member of staff collects your kill & transports the carcass to the slaughtering facility. Once there the carcass is hoisted into the facility by means of an electric hoist, our staff painstakingly skin and if required cape the animal and then store the meat in a hygienic cooling facility. All areas are kept equally clean and hygienic with the use of high pressure cleaning systems.

Our caping staff are fully and professionally trained by a well known taxidermist. Great care and skill is used when skinning the carcass with the use of scalpels and skinning knives.

GAME AND THE FACILITY:
Game on the farm is meticulously taken care of . Vaccination applicators are spread over the facility, spraying animals against pest and disease.

Game cameras are strategically placed in the veldt to monitor and observe the animals. These cameras are infrared/motion activated; the camera resets every minute and then takes a photo.

BIRD WATCHING:
A wide variety of birds reside on the facility grounds, feeding and nesting there. Birds can be viewed throughout the day and at night.

Birdwatching slots can be arranged and booked out to birdwatchers, allowing them to view the bird and wildlife without hunting parties on the grounds.
