The Vineyard Guest Lodge

Uys and Ester purchased their farm via the internet, taking a leap of faith while still living in Pretoria. Uys left a well established agency on the Johannesburg fresh produce market and Ester left a legal practice to follow their dream at the coast. The couple moved to the Eastern Cape drawn by the pristine beaches, rivers and the fact that the surrounding areas were still underdeveloped and undiscovered.

Uys loved to build and create things, while Ester's passion was gardening. Between the two of them, they transformed the farm house in the last 5 years from dilapidated to what it is today.

Our vision is to establish accommodation in a tranquil setting, and one day provide a venue set in beautiful gardens so that we may showcase and share the fruits of our labour and blessings. The Eastern Cape, specifically the East Coast has proven to be a wonderful part of our country with its rich traditions, diverse cultures and can truly be seen as the gateway to the Wild Coast.

Uys dreamt of establishing a vineyard in an area where vines traditionally do not grow, with the aim of one day producing a bottle or two of this own wine. From there the vineyard's seeds were sewn and vine has begun to grow. In partnership with our dairy goats, we hope to complete our cheese and wine concept one day.
