The Goldsmiths Gallery on Loop

The Goldsmiths Gallery on Loop is a curated art and design space in the centre of Cape Town showcasing fine jewellery, artwork, photography and handcrafted knives. Heritage, passion and superior craftsmanship is at the heart of the gallery’s ethos.

Fine jewellery designer Noeline Kruger opened the space in November 2016 as a venue to house Lazer Options, the custom laser engraving workshop she runs alongside her jewellery studio, as well as a place to display her jewellery designs. She soon found that the space lends itself beautifully to the display of other kinds of art and design.

Noeline and husband Michael Angove, himself a master goldsmith with years of experience, work together closely on the various gallery projects. Their different creatives styles and approaches bring a unique and interesting synergy to their work.

The Goldsmith Gallery on Loop has evolved into a multidisciplinary creative showcase, where artists, designers and artisans handpicked by Noeline exhibit their work.

A distinctly contemporary African aesthetic runs like a golden thread through the work in the gallery, making the space more than a gallery but a celebration of local talent, skills and a nostalgic sense of workmanship.
