Fat Mulberry Guest House is situated in a very scenic part of the Freestate close to Fouriesburg.( 1 km away) You can experience the most beautiful ever changing views all year around. Each season offers its own beauty. The golden sandstone rocks are most exquisite at sunset. The farm overlooks the Maluti mountain range. We have enjoyed snow on the ground in July and August and even in November.
You will enjoy the peaceful setting on the farm – good for the soul!

Take a drive around town to see the historic houses and many historic sites can be found in the area from the Anglo-Boer War. Fouriesburg was founded in 1892.

Farmers in the area grow mealies, sunflowers, mushrooms ,beans ,asparagus, cherries e.t.c.

I love the Lesotho donkies, You are sure to see some around.


There are many activities in the area that can keep you busy or perhaps you want to sit back and relax and recharge your batteries.

We are just 10 kms away from the Lesotho border post and 90 kms away from Afri ski. Afriski is popular in winter for skiing and in summner for summer activities like mountain bike riding.
The Katse dam is also worth visiting.


Clarens – A beautiful old village just 35 kms away. Many art galleries and shops to visit and restaurants and a craft beer

Roosendal - the pace of life is slow and it is so worthwhile going for a visit. Pop into the old sweet shop nd haberdashery – it will take you way back in time.The village is set on the edge of the Witteberge, which forms part of the foothills of the Maluti Mountain Range. A number of artists and writers have made Rosendal their home. It is situated between Senekal and Ficksburg.
Rosendal Winterfees - held in August over the long weekend.

The apartments are self catering and have dstv and wifi and the choice of 2 single beds per room or a king for a couple. Rooms are very comfortable and upmarket and serviced daily. The apartments all have fireplaces and electric bankets in the winter.
All apartments have their own place to braai.

THE MALUTI VIEW - A very spacious upmarket stylish apartment. with 3 bedrooms all with their own bathrooms, Large lounge/dining room/kitchen / pool room open plan. Large fire place with a coal stove for heat.
You look out through large windows and large stack glass doors onto the most amazing view,.
Suitable for someone in a wheel chair but please check on the individuals needs.
Sleeps up to 6 people plus there is a large cot/ sleeper bed for a child. Cost: R 350.00 per person per night. Minimum rate is R 1400.00 per night( cost of 4 people). For 6 quests it will be R 2100.00 per night. ( Please remember there is also a large cot/ side can be taken off - suitable up to 6 years)

TOP DECK - comfortable 7 sleeper. with a birds eye view of the Maluti Mountain range.spacious and comfortable. 2 bathrooms.
COST : R 340.00 per person per night. Minimum cost is R 1360.00 ( 4 people) . R 2 040.00 for 6 people. (there is a sleeper couch as well to accomodate the 7th person.

THE FAMILY ROOM: - comfortable and has its own stoep.
Sleeps 4 . Open plan kitchen,lounge,diningroom.
COST: R 320.00 per person per night/. Minimum rate is R 960.00 ( 3 people) per night. Four people will be R 1280.00.

THE CHAMELEON ROOM - NOT SELF CATERING - . single bed en-suite with a shower. Very suitable for a one or two night stay while travelling through or on a business trip..
