The Difference Makers South Africa - NPO

The Difference Makers partners with various public and private sector organizations as well as government to secure and provide funds for upliftment, empowerment and personal and economic development projects to assist in the government's Local Economic Development (LED) strategy. The organization is further an integrator of programs to ensure that funds are applied in an appropriate manner in areas where it is much needed, to enhance return on investment and ensure integrity. Working in partnership with the non-profit, private and public sectors, we focus on the following two areas: Women Empowerment and Youth Development in Entrepreneurship and Communities.

The Difference Makers NPO facilitates meaningful and innovative strategic partnerships between key role players as a platform to address the needs of women in business and to facilitate the development of skills that will enhance constructive growth and job creation. The Difference Makers NPO has signed an agreement as a mentoring partner with the Cherie Blair Foundation.

Many women in developing and emerging markets have the ideas and ambition to become successful entrepreneurs but are held back by barriers such as lack of business skills, technology, networks and finance. In response, The Difference Makers (NPO) works with the Cherie Blair Foundation on Mentoring Women in Business through technology to offer cross-border support to women entrepreneurs. Using the Cherie Blair Foundation online platform, both Mentors and Mentees spend 12 months working one-on-one to achieve key business goals. Participants build their business skills and digital literacy through our trainings, and become part of a global community of committed, ambitious entrepreneurs who are invested in each other's success. The programme boosts confidence, improves business performance and ultimately creates wealth for the entrepreneurs we support.

The Difference Makers has enrolled 50 Women Owned businesses recently successfully for the May 2014 intake in the Cherie Blair Foundation's Mentorship Programme for Women-In-Business with Eskom Supplier Development (South Africa's official electricity provider) as a partner.
