The Chefs Bench

The Chef’s Bench is an initiative by #thefoodembassy led by Chef Steffen Olivier.

We are the self-proclaimed ambassadors for local cuisine. We represent local flavor, talent, ideas and ingredients.

The Chef’s Bench is an Epicure Food truck was started by longtime friends and kitchen comrads matt finch and steffen Olivier. Homesick after a couple of years abroad, we decided to move back to South Africa and start our food empire at home.
The main objective is to bring conscious fine cuisine to a broad demographic, with a casual and creative approach, and at an affordable price. Distinctly and Uniquely South African in flavour, we use only the best local and sustainable produce. We focus on being the best at what we do and get our ingredients from the local people who are the best at what they do, given we share the same ethics and ethos. We believe growth should be choral rather than individual and thus we take great pride in the local businesses that we associate with.

We are young self-employed proudly South African chefs/entrepreneur and we intend on putting local cuisine on the map.
