The Artist's Café

It is at the Windmill Centre on Clarens Square that you will find Artist's Café Family Restaurant -a beautifully built sandstone restaurant set in the heart of this majestic location.

Our friendly staff, country-style menu, unique location and playground for the kids make us the ideal place for you to come put your feet up, make yourself at home and relax in the fresh mountain air.

We offer cosy indoor seating, with the fireplace burning warm in winter, or cool comfortable outdoor seating where you can get lost in the views of the mountains and activities taking place on Clarens Square.

The Artist's Café is a daytime only Restaurant as we believe all our customers are royalty -they should eat breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince and supper like a pauper.

Our breakfasts are the BEST! Our Boere Breakfast sees people returning again and again. Our breakfast menu also caters for the Englishman, the French, the Early Birds and everyone in between.

Our light meals include homemade Quiche, Grilled line fish, Chicken Schnitzel and our Famous Savory Pancakes which are always a treat!

We have a bread basket with something for everyone, from the usual Toasties to the healthy Open Sandwiches. Don't forget the not to be missed Roosterkoeke, which is freshly baked and filled with an array of savoury fillings from mince to cheese and jams.

Our grills and snack platters come highly recommended as all our red meat is locally purchased, ripened and prepared to your liking. The Artist's Café is fully licensed and has a scrumptious kiddies menu too.

The sweet tooth will be led into temptation by our captivating cakes all made in our very own kitchen. Our waffles and country sized pancakes are baked fresh on order and are well worth the wait too!

Come and sit back while you relax, breathing in the fresh mountain air. Enjoy listening to the mellow music, or take a walk through the restaurant to browse the original art which is on display in the restaurant.

There is a farm-style play area where all kids and furry four-footed children are welcome. Don't leave The Artist's Cafe without hopping onto the antique red tractor for a perfect family photo which will always bring back fond memories.
