Stanger Secondary School

Stanger Indian High School was established in 1920 catering especially for the Indian Community in and around Stanger. High School education was provided for by a few schools in those days and the Stanger Indian High School was recognised as the foremost institution in the province, with many a luminary passing through its portals.

With the changes occurring within the Department of Education, the school subsequently became known as Stanger Secondary School. The passing of time and the changes within the government has also impacted on life at Stanger Secondary School; yet the ethos and the academic achievements remain the same up until today, Stanger Secondary continues to boast an excellent record of achievements amongst learners who come from diverse social, economic and cultural backgrounds.

Stanger Secondary has been home to many learners over the years; and just like the ebb and flow of the sea every years new learners arrive and older learners leave. Both these groups of learners embark on new experiences in their lives for the younger ones, a brand new life at High School awaits them, and for the school leavers, a whole new world awaits them.
