Sikhulise Skills

The purpose of Sikhulise Skills Center is to provide employers and the unemployed, an opportunity for them to find access of work and recruitment in the area of Port Alfred, South Africa. In this venue employers can come and recruite workers with different sets of job skills needed for any kind of labour work.

At Sikhulise when the unemployed have not been collected at any given day, they are kept busy learning skills like mosaic work, wood work, art and vegetable gardening, in order to enhance their abilities. Besides those skills, most of them have also experience as painters, plumbers, gardeners, carpenters and drivers. Which gives the employer an idea of what the competences are of the workers.

The workers are also assisted with compiling their CV's and opening bank accounts. All the unemployed at Sikhulise are registered with identification documents and have a clearance by the local authorities. The workers are determined to prove their mettle and do their best in order to build their own work profiles.
