Shroomee

Shroomee (Pty) Ltd is a newly formed company in South Africa, but it’s technique sources are the number one mushrooms research institutes in China – CHINA ACADEMY OF ENGINEERING and Jilin Agricultural University. We also build up close technique relationship and cooperation with institutes in Japan and Korea.
Shroomee (Pty) Ltd would like to propose a Hi-tech Green House in Sasolburg area. The Green House aims to cultivate healthy and non-polluted mushroom in controlled environment and harvest with automatic system. Shroomee will invest up to 120 Million Rand in phase 1 and build up a high-quality and energy-saving building that covers more than 17000 square meters on this project and will introduce the funding from our Chinese partner. This project is highly supported and already approved by Sasolburg Municipal. We already have Site Development Plan approved in December 2014 and can start our construction.
The base will provide 150 permanent manufacturing jobs to start with in phase 1, and increasing to 1000 permanent manufacturing staff in 24 months time when operating at full capacity.
All over Europe and America, exotic mushrooms are considered a delicacy and consumed daily because of it’s favorable nutritional contents. Shroomee aims to introduce this mushroom-loving lifestyle to the population of South Africa. Shroomee is compliant with BBBEE and abides to the employment equity needed, developing the skills of staff, working with preferred suppliers resulting in enterprise development.
