Seaport Supply was started in Durban in 1990. The Cape Town branch from where seaportsupply.co.za is hosted was started in 2005.

Seaport Supply is very well known in the South African Marine and Boating market. We import many well known brands and distribute to boat builders, wholesalers and retailers around South Africa and Africa.

We have not had an e commerce presence until recently as we have wanted to enter the marketplace correctly and do it properly. We firmly believe that the concept of “bricks and clicks” is vital when buying online, were there is a physical shop to back up what is sold online.

One hears too many horror stories involving online business run from someone’s garage and customers having no recourse when things go wrong.

We also believe that whatever we advertise online should be what we physically keep in stock. Many online business will take a customers money and only then order from the supplier.

For this reason, we do not advertise every single item available but rather what we keep in stock. Also, from years of experience we know what customers ask for and we know what sells. We have also tested most of this equipment ourselves.

We do however ask our customers to let us know if they are looking for something not on the website and we will source the product for them. This will usually only add a couple of days to the shipping times.
