Rural Doctors Association of South Africa

RuDASA Objectives
to support the provision of a high standard of primary and secondary medical care delivered in rural communities by appropriately trained permanent medical staff;

to establish relationships amongst doctors working in rural areas, those training them and those supporting them and between rural doctors and hospitals, public and private institutions, government authorities, medical schemes, the medical profession generally, and the media and the public;

to facilitate the growth of inter- and intra-professional networks of rural health professionals including, but not limited to, those working in the fields of rehabilitation and allied fields, clinical associates and other mid-level health workers, and the nursing and pharmacy professions.

to promote the professional and legitimate interests of rural doctors by:
striving for the creation of a career structure in rural medicine with appropriate training, certification and remuneration
helping to provide ongoing continuing medical education and logistical information back up of both a general and personal nature
striving for the creation of academic department of Rural; Medicine in medical schools;
