Richmond House Cottages is upmarket self-catering accommodation for discerning guests.

Our three charming, serviced S/C cottages are comfortably furnished and generously equipped. Each has its own special ambience; all offer a cosy, tranquil retreat. Privacy, birdsong, indigenous coastal bush and shady ancient trees are main attractions – our guests can now also enjoy a new lodge-style boma.

Richmond House is a 7-acre hilltop estate on the west bank of the Kowie River. From parts of the property there are breathtaking views of river and beach (both are in walking distance). It also has an illustrious 170-year old history displayed in a Museum on site: it was originally owned by the Hon William Cock, 1820 settler and entrepreneur, who ‘moved’ the river, built the harbour and settled in the town’s manor house, The Castle (1840).

Both Fig Tree Cottage and Ship Ahoy Cottage are perfect for a couple or small family: two bedrooms each (twin and double/king beds), an open-plan living space, one full bathroom (bath and shower) and an outside shower open to trees and stars. Kitchens have automatic dishwashers.

Sandymount Cottage is a romantic bed-sitter with covered verandah, well-designed kitchen and bathroom with shower. Ideal for single guests or a honeymoon couple.

Housekeeping is included and a laundry service is offered.
