Financial Planning in South-Africa is such an emotive yet complex service offering. For a 170 years now, the industry leaders have been insisting on remunerating representatives in such a way that it spawns the wrong behaviour... sales targets! We, at Revolution Wealth believe this approach is fundamentally flawed!

Selling or driving monthly sales targets should NOT be the approach to financial planning…it should however be solutions driven through creating, long lasting, solid relationships with clients as to assist them over time to achieve their wants and needs.

When analysing your current financial situation we get a better understanding of the scope of work involved before presenting you with our findings based on your financial circumstances, however, it is far more important to understand how the “status quo” in terms of your financial situation, fits into your greater financial goals, priorities and aspirations, than simply doing the number crunching.
To get a handle on this, we would have to meet again to discuss your wants and needs. Put simply: help me establish what you would like your money, to do for you? This will help us to conduct a “GAP” analysis i.e. the gap between where you are now...and where it is, you want to be?

Core to our approach is a genuine focus on the client, rather than on selling a financial product. Every client receives a customised living financial plan incorporating his or her lifetime goals and current situation. This plan is reviewed on a regular basis by your “financial coach / planner”.

The coaches’ approach and process starts by addressing the personal aspirations and goals of each client and builds every client's personal financial plan on this very sound and client-specific foundation. In many ways, it turns the traditional financial planning model on its head. This model calls for an advice led, fees-based approach to financial planning, something that very few financial planners embrace.

At Revolution Wealth we embrace this philosophy, we will endeavour to understand exactly what it is you would like to achieve, and set out to make certain recommendations that may lead to implementation.

A simplistic example of this may be for instance -“family protection” (the goal) … i.e. at date of death you may want your wife to have R5000 p/m to look after herself and the children, should she re-marry, her new spouse must not be able to spend your kids maintenance or ‘education fund’. The implementation of my recommendations could potentially be… to draft a new will in such a way that the provisions of a “testamentary trust” at date of death caters for the kind of protection you were looking for. Understand that certain recommendations may lead to implementation… that may have a financial implication now, for example, the cost of setting up a new will.
