The center was founded in 2001 by the German Priest Alois Ganserer as a shelter for homeless children up to the age of 18. Children that come from broken homes, that lost their parents, or are in any other kind of trouble are also admitted. At the shelter, the kids have a secure, friendly environment, with healthy food, transport to school and sanitary facilities. The project is funded by government subsidies, but relies heavily on donations, since the government money suffices for the most necessary things. The shelter currently employs one matron and one cook. Every year, the German association "Dumelang e.V." sends two volunteer workers, that help the children with their schoolwork and try to make them feel at home through various activities. Visitors and donors are always welcome to visit the project and meet the staff and children. Donations of any kind are gladly accepted.
