Matuka is situated in the Kwena basin, district Lydenburg, and forms part of the Sterkspruit Nature Reserve. Nature conservation has spotted 110 different bird species. Game like bosbok, kudu, ribbok, duiker, bosvark, Jackal, brown Hyaena, porcupine, wild cats, baboons and monkeys are resident. A Planetarium with a 20 inch mirror reflector lens Telescope is situated on the lodge. A hiking trail will be established. Fly casting and fly tying lessons will be conducted. Archery range for recreation purposes is available. Annual bird hunting (Guinea fowl and Pheasants ) will be arranged.
