Masitise Cave House Museum is approximately 7km north west of Moyeni. This place was inhabited by the San until Chief Moorosi of Baphuthi turned it into cattle post in 1940s. This place was given to Rev. DF Ellenberger in 1866. It functioned as the family house and its grounds as the first Church. This is where part of Lesotho's history was written and important negotiations between Ellenberger and Sir Phillip Woodehouse took place. Masitise served as the refuggee site during the Moorosi War in 1879.
