More about Ladismith Cheese

Cheese Production

Production was started with 15 000 liters of milk per day and initially only Gouda and Cheddar were manufactured. Production has since increased and Gouda, Cheddar, Edam, Matured Cheddar, Mozzarella and Green Pepper Cheddar are now manufactured. A creamy semi-hard cheese named Ladismither has been very well received in the market, as confirmed by several national and international awards.

Butter

Soon after starting its operation, Ladismith Cheese Company started manufacturing butter on a small scale from cream coming available from the cheese factory. Later, manufacturing of bulk salted and unsalted butter for industrial use was added. Butter is now available in 250g, 500g and 25kg packaging under the brand name Ladismith Butter, while Ladismith Butterspread is a firm favourite with our customers.

Our most recent addition is Ladismitter Cultured Butter made form cream cultured with active bacteria. In addition to having a longer shelf life, the rich flavour of Ladismitter Cultured Butter enhances the taste of food cooked or baked with cultured butter.
