Kung “pronounced KOON” comes from the Thai word sound that means to look up too.
Most of the early cities belonging to the various dynasties were palace citadels built on rocky outcrops or hills, higher than the surrounding areas, it soon came the word associated with cities as well as for royalty.( this was because the rulers of these areas, lived in these protected cities)

The dragonfly logo is a symbol of freedom as most of the Thai citizens lived in or around these cities. With all the wars with Burma, Laos and Cambodia as well as the bandits most people were too afraid to travel so the Dragonfly was the only creature that could drift freely between the cities tasting and sampling all the waters of Thai land. We have used this idea with our food having influence from Burma, Laos, Cambodia, Vietnam & Malaysia
