Kelda - situated in the quiet suburb of Prestbury, Pietermaritzburg – opened its doors to patients on March 1st 2017.
The 4-bedroom house is safe, secure and comfortable - providing patients with a homely atmosphere rather than a clinical setting. Large grounds - which offer peace and tranquility - present patients with the opportunity to relax and reflect in a serene setting, which is, in itself, of great therapeutic value.
It is within this unique environment that patients are then introduced to the therapeutic programme, which is run by a qualified team utilising a multidisciplinary approach.
Kelda uses the 12-step programme to guide patients through their recovery; this, in combination with individual psychotherapy and classes focusing on communication skills and relapse prevention, ensures that all patients are – over the course of their chosen programme - provided with the tools necessary to start living healthy and fulfilled lives, free from active addiction.
The Programme:
At Kelda we strive to help those struggling with chemical dependency or addiction - whether it be to drugs, alcohol, gambling or sex - using a biopsychosocial approach to recovery. Recovery is a multi-faceted journey, unique to each person - and the therapeutic programme is delivered in a way that provides the general tools essential to recovery as well as the life skills necessary to utilise them - but always tailored to the needs of the individual patient. We offer the following programmes:
28-Day Inpatient Primary Care (R10,000)
Monthly Secondary Care (R9,000)
Weekly Outpatient (R1500)
3, 6, or 12 month Tertiary Care (From R7500)
