Immanuel Church - Somerset Park

Immanuel church is a community of people loved and chosen by God the Father, brought together and vitally connected to one another through Jesus, and empowered by His Holy Spirit to see His Gospel preached and His Kingdom come on earth as it is in Heaven.
We meet regularly each week in each others homes and together on a Sunday to worship Jesus, give testimony to His goodness, be stirred by His Spirit, and be strengthened through His Word for the glory of God, for the good of others, and for our joy.
The story of Immanuel Church started in 1983 when Eldred and Denise Engelsman met for the first time in their lounge. Later, for our Sunday meetings, we moved to Atholton Primary School. As the church grew, the need for a church building became important. Amazing instances of prophetic direction and Godly provision lead to our current church facility being inaugurated in 2003. Eldred and Denise handed the leadership of the church over in 1999 to Greg and Sue Stevens who lead it today.
Immanuel has now developed into a multi-congregational church which means that, though Immanuel consists of different congregations meeting in different locations, we are one church with one heart beat, one culture, one value system and one vision. At this point in time we are four congregations (Somerset Park, Waterloo, Seatides and Albert Park).
