Hot dogs for the Homeless’ is a social event with a charitable basis. Our undertaking brings like-minded strangers, friends and family together to share in the inspiring aim of giving in order to feed the underprivileged.
This project is a home-grown endeavour and our mission is simply to bridge the gap between the young, old and in-between, and work towards the realization of our dream of living in the type of communities of which we wish to be a part. We urge others to consider giving back to create a more caring, united Johannesburg.

This venture was started by a small group of friends, hosted on the last Friday of every month. As of late, due to unforeseen circumstances ---- one of the project’s founders being diagnosed with cancer and our venue no longer being available---- our work ground to a halt. However, the initiative is now back on track and growing from strength to strength.

Anyone who is ready, willing and able to attend the scheduled events should arrive with donations of kind such as hot dogs, rolls and financial contributions. We then spend the evening preparing and packing hot dogs for the homeless people who subsist in and around Johannesburg. Once ready, we separate into groups and deliver to various points where the homeless (and hungry) congregate - and wait for us.

The project, funding and backing is not on a large scale and any help is appreciated.
