MY HairSTORY OF DREADLOCKS

DREADLOCKS: This is the type of hair that is segmented then locks together when one does not comb or untangle their hair. Dreadlocks are famously embraced by the Rasta community as this is one of the most organic ways for one to grow their hair endlessly. There is numerous way of achieving this type of hair and thanks to human evolution new, neat and professional techniques were discovered.
This takes me back to my teenage years where I started experimenting with dreads, back in middle school. All of this started due to the fact that trips to the salon where a luxury to me and as u can imagine those were my adolescence years and girl…I seriously needed to standout from them boys. Back then I used the ‘sunlight ‘technique where waslap(washing rug), scrubbing brush and sunlight bar soap were all that I needed. To be honest, this is the cleanest technique I know as u get to wash your hair on a daily basis and there won’t be any product-buildup left in your hair.
Later in high school I started noticing the Gel Twist technique, were a comb is used to segment and twist ones hair. With me being the laggard that I am, I never parted ways with my waslap until Gosiame(my little sister) was now my guinea-pig and her hair was too long for our method of choice. When our mother decided to start her dreads she consulted a local loctitian, who was familiar with the Gel Twist technique. She came for her house-call appointment, and shame we (Goitse&Gosiame) watched her like a hawk.
Slowly but surely dreads were becoming a trend, that’s when I decided to train at Jabu Stone Academy for Dreadlocks as I decided this to be my profession.
