The foundations of Gelvandale High School were laid in 1961 to coincide with the establishment of the township of Gelvandale, a direct result of the Group Areas Act.

Past pupils have made their mark in the community and broader society as leaders and contributors in many cultural, religious, technical and professional fields.

Many have involved themselves with distinction in community projects and socio-political activities in a society in which rapid change on at! fronts must take place.

Our alumni are an inspiration to future generations of pupils to strive after values necessary if they are to realise their potential in our South African society.
