More about Gaborone Rifle Club

What happens at the Gaborone Rifle Club?
The Gaborone Rifle Club operates from Tsele Range. We provide a safe and sociable environment for our Members and their Guests to fire rifles and shotguns. The Club welcomes the whole family, with facilities to enjoy a day of shooting and braai.

Do I need to bring my own rifle or shotgun?
You will need to bring your own firearm, together with your firearm license (or certified copy). Alternatively, if you are borrowing a firearm from a friend you will need to bring a temporary firearm license. This can be easily obtained from your nearest police station.
The Club does not loan firearms.
The Club may sell 12ga shotgun shells for trap shooting. We do not carry any other types of ammunition.
At special events and competitions, our sponsor firearms dealers may loan firearms and provide ammunition for sale. Please check with us to avoid disappointment.

Where can I buy a firearm?
We can heartily recommend two great local firearms dealers that will be happy to assist you with buying and licensing a rifle or shotgun.
PAAM – Pan African Ammunition Manufacturers, Tel 3933302 / 3939830
Explosion, Tel 3925312

Can I learn to shoot at the Club?
Whilst we do not offer formal training, our Members are very friendly and often assist newcomers. We’ve all been there before!
Beginners are encouraged to join the club and practice using their firearms in a safe environment. All shooters are briefed on basic gun safety and awareness.

What are the requirements to become a Club Member?
1. Complete the Membership Application Form
2. Pay membership fees
3. Take part in a short safety briefing

What time will the range be open?
The range is opened only when requested by its Members.
The usual opening time is 9.30am to 12.30pm on Sundays.
