More about Fundza Financial Wellbeing

Managing Director evaluated the consumer situation and the reasons for over-indebtedness. She therefore realized that the solution to prevent the stigma from spreading further is not through assisting clients with Debt Consolidations, Debt Review, Sequestration nor Administration. The reason is simply that client will not opt for either of the above if not over-indebted. It then made it clear that the South African Consumers need education about how to stay out of debt. The Credit Counseling will then provide a solution to consumers to stay alert and know their rights. The founder then realized that spilled water cannot be taken back, but sure can be cleaned. That’s when she opted to help the over-indebted consumers through Consumer protection, complaints resolution, rehabilitation repayment and client advisory services. Though most South Africans are afraid to admit it most of them are in debt, with no one willing to ever disclose their debt status. Statistics show that four (4) out of six (6) SA consumers are in debt, they enjoy spending rather than saving. As most come from unprivileged backgrounds, they are financially illiterate. Consumer need to be aware of their rights and their spending habits. Studies have shown that employees in debt are less productive and pay less attention to their responsibilities and this has become big delinquent for most South African employers. In some cases over-indebtedness has led to mental breakdowns, stress, depression and suicides. To this trepidation; the solution will be to provide the client with adequate education about financial freedom, social and economic effects of consumer choices. As Fundza Financial wellbeing with its level 1 (one) B-BBEE Exemption, we aim to improve our clients’ lives by ensuring they learn about their rights as consumers and are able to look well after their finances.
