Enactus Swaziland

Enactus is an international nonprofit organization located in 36 countries dedicated to inspiring students to improve the world through entrepreneurial action. We provide a platform for teams of outstanding university students to create community development projects that put people’s own ingenuity and talents at the centre of improving their livelihoods. Guided by educators and supported by business leaders, our students take the kind of entrepreneurial approach that empowers people to be a part of their own success. Our work transforms both the lives of the people we serve, and in turn, the lives of our students as they develop into more effective, values-driven leaders.

The objective of Enactus Swaziland is to more specifically empower our students from various tertiary institutions across Swaziland to create social enterprises and businesses capable of positively impacting communities across the country. We strive to battle the high youth unemployment rate through instilling in our students a mind-set of being business minded people who are able either able to start their own businesses or else use their leadership and business skills in their every day work lives.

Enactus participants are students currently enrolled at one of our 13 institutions in Swaziland. We also have influential business leaders who serve as critical mentors for our students as they develop their projects. Academic leaders at the institutions are also important because they guide and mentor our students and teams. Enactus is also supported on various levels from the Swaziland government, local and international businesses, non-profit organizations, and individuals who are all dedicated to social entrepreneurship and the success of our students.
