Embury Institute for Higher Education

Embury Institute for Higher Education is a fully accredited and registered private higher education institute specialising in teacher education and development. Embury is committed to be the institute of choice by providing quality trained teachers for all South African schools and is dedicated to training competent teachers through the integration of theoretical education with practical experience.

Embury offers a selection of full time qualifications, including a Higher Certificate in Pre-School Education, Diploma in Pre-School and Foundation Phase Teacher Assistant, Bachelor of Education in Foundation Phase Teaching (Grade R to 3) and Bachelor of Education in Intermediate Phase Teaching (Grade 4 to 6). Distance learning programmes are also available.

Furthermore, Embury is a category A service provider for SACE and offers short courses to practising teachers as part of the Continuing Professional Teacher Development (CPTD) programme.
