Durban Dance Centre is a competitive Ballroom and Latin American dance studio and was founded in 1979 by Pat Dougall. It grew to be one of the biggest studios in Durban. It has a history of champion dancers, including three couples achieving Springbok Colours and representing South African in the World for 6 years. Many of the professional teachers in Durban had their beginnings here.
In 2001, Pat put her daughter Peta through professional teachers exams. She went on to teach competitive dancing at The Latin Look studio in Pretoria. Five years ago she joined The Durban Dance Centre studio, teaching competitive dancing and opening up a social side. The studio is located in Durban Central, but they also teach in halls around Durban.
