Carri-Anne Parker - Biography
I started my singing career at the age of 10 years old. I was vocally
trained by Irene Frangs.
I started my singing career as a solo artist, managed by Carolina and John Choles.
I performed country wide singing at Shopping Centre’s, Carnivals and Mardigras and was booked by Hands on.
I attended singing and keyboard classes with Fame music Academy for 2 years and performed in shows with Fame. I did guitar lessons with Steve Coles of the Guitar school.
Later on in my career I came into contact with The band ‘’The Kids.’ and started’ being the guest performer for most of their gigs.
I then formed a group called ‘’The Milkshake’s’ consisting of 3 female singers
performing nationwide. After about three years I formed a group called ‘’Carri-Anne
and Ice Rhythm.’’ Myself and 2 dancers.
I then went onto forming a five piece band, ‘’TIDAL CREED’’ singing Rock covers and
originals performing nationwide at pubs & clubs etc. We did exceptionally well
in our short existence but unfortunately disbanded due to inner conflict.
During my singing career I was managed my Carolina and John Choles & Carina and Eddie Harding.
I recorded a demo with Iggie Louw and Gallo studios.
At the age of 18, I went on my own and joined up with Dads Army as the front
line singer.
We performed mainly in clubs and pubs.
I was in a 2 piece bands with Tyron Clark (Crystal December),
Albert Gibson, (SCENT - A - MENTAL) , Mandy Parker (Double D) and Charmaine Herholdt
(True Blonde)
Our booking agents were Ally and Trish Clayton, and some gigs we got on our own.
In 2002. I went to Abudabi (Dubai) and performed in the Intercontinental Hotel for 3 months, as a solo artist and DJ.
In 2003 I got married and had my first child in January 2004.
I stopped singing for +/- 2 years as I had my second child in January 2005.
I started performing as a solo artist on and off in 2007.
I was approached by Eddie and Carina Harding to join up with The Decadents in
July 2010. We changed the band’s name to 4Colours.
I taught at Fame Music Academy as a singing teacher.
End of 2012 I moved to KZN. This is when I met Johan Bezuidenhout on guitar and formed Due South. We split up in 2013 as a result of him moving to Jhb.
I then joined up with a 4 piece Rock Band - Braxton Hix as lead vocalist. We split up Due to band members being too busy in their personal lives.
I am now back with Due South as lead vocalist doing various gigs.
